Don't throw it away- bring your broken item to us and let's give it a second life. We are partnering with Repair Cafe CNY to bring you Lysander's very first Repair Cafe! This is a family friendly event, and all are welcome. Refreshments (coffee, tea, and snacks) will be provided.

Registration will open soon for this event. Be sure to register to secure your spot and let us know what you're planning to bring.

The rules for this event are as follows:

  1. Participants are limited to bring up to 2 broken items.

BE GREEN: HONORING OUR SACRED GIFTS:CONVERSATIONS WITH ROBIN WALL KIMMERER
May 02, 2026 8:15 AM

Honoring Our Sacred Gifts is a day of gathering, reflection, and relationship-building that invites people of faith and people of goodwill to come together around a shared commitment: tending the world we have been given and working for justice that sustains all life.

Drawing inspiration from Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass and The Serviceberry, this event centers gratitude, reciprocity, and responsibility as spiritual and ethical practices. We will explore how environmental care is inseparable from social and economic justice — how the health of our land, water, and communities is deeply connected to the dignity and flourishing of all living beings.

BE GREEN: PAINT DROP OFF EVENT
May 30, 2026 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Leftover paint never belongs in a recycling bin, but can be recycled when dropped off at free collection points year-round. Alternatively, Assemblyman Al Stirpe is co-hosting a free drop-off event soon, in partnership with GreenSheen. Registration, which is required, opens on April 1, 2026.

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2026
Time: 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Location: North Syracuse DMV Parking Lot, 5801 East Taft Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212

Need to start preparing ahead of time? The registration page lists both acceptable and unacceptable items for drop-off, to review in advance.

While OCRRA is happy to share details about this great community service, we are not hosting the event. Therefore, questions should be directed to GreenSheen by emailing events@greensheenpaint.com.

GreenSheen also provides dates and locations for their upcoming paint drop-offs on the GreenSheen events page.

Can’t make it to the drop-off event?

Remember, free paint recycling is available year-round through the PaintCare program. Interior and exterior latex, acrylic, water-based, alkyd, oil-based and enamel (including textured coatings), as well as primers, stains, sealers and clear coatings such as shellac and varnish, are accepted from households and businesses for recycling at no cost through the program. Several year-round drop off locations are available in NYS.
